If your subscription payment failed, you're at risk of losing your Gold benefits. We typically give a small grace period then retry a failed payment once, before cancelling the Gold status.
The most common reason for a failed payment is insufficient funds in either the PayPal account, or the primary bank account. If you ensure there is enough money in the account before we retry, you should get uninterrupted service.
Another common reason is card expiry. One workaround for this is to cancel your current subscription (under Manage Account) and sign up to Gold with your new card. You should be able to do this without interruption.
